For the course angler we have 600 yards of canal plus a fishing pool stocked with carp, tench, F1, roach, bream and rudd. Fishing is also available on the nearby River Severn

Explore the ruins of the ancient motte and bailey castle situated close by in the beautiful old county town of Montgomery, or explore scenic rides on the Welshpool and Llanfair steam railway.

Visit the national trust Powis Castle and gardens or Gregynog Hall and gardens. Take excellent scenic walks along Offa’s Dyke. The coast lines and Snowdonia are all worth a visit with many lakes, dams and water falls within an easy drive.

The local village of Berriew with the river Rhiew running through is just 2 miles away (a lovely walk along the canal) where you can purchase provisions. It has a local butcher, cosy tea rooms and two village public houses.

Located on site at reception we have a small souvenier shop with postcards, slate products and many welsh gifts and also bird seed and peanuts for the wildlife in the wood.
